One morning in early August, I received a knock at my front door. It was my next door neighbor. As I greeted him, he said ” Looks like you got hit too.” At first, I had no clue what he was talking about. Slowly the realization came over me like a the feeling of a strong shot of tequila. He motioned over to my car which was parked in my driveway in front of my Encino, California home. When I bought my home almost 13 years ago, one of the key selling points was that it was a safe neighborhood. I guess times have changed.I walked to the rear of my car and saw that someone had smashed the rear window of my 2010 Toyota Prius. My mind started racing, ” ok what is missing?” I realized that my Laptop bag was gone. I said ” NOT AGAIN !.” I had had another laptop and my camera bag stolen from my car about 8 months prior. I got angry with myself for being lazy and leaving it in my car again for it to be stolen.
